The office space in Oosterburgereiland Conference Centre, Amsterdam is on the exciting new Oosterburgereiland development, created to turn a formerly forgotten area connected with the city's maritime heritage into a hub for urban, creative and innovative businesses. It has been developed to appeal to image-conscious, high profile businesses requiring top-flight facilities and it is now home to companies specialising in media, design, education, public sector projects, business services and urban living. The INIT, a vast, glass-covered city for collective use by diverse businesses forms the centrepiece of the development. The city cleansing department has a large facility here, and the upper floors are used by consultancy and creative firms. The Amsterdam Centre for Architecture (ARCAM) is located in this area, as well as the Marine Etablissement Amsterdam (owned by the Navy) and the Dutch Maritime Museum. There is an extensive Chinese business centre, and the Conservatory, which offers courses in traditional and modern music.
