Jody Baker

I joined Regus in September 2003 and started in the Finance Department in Belfast as a General Ledger Assistant, this role was focused on the Treasury side of General Ledger and I was responsible for the Cash Payments and Bank Requisitions. I spent 6 months in this role before I specialised on the Assets part of Finance and became the Asset specialist within the Function.

In November 2004 I took the opportunity to become the General Ledger Assistant Supervisor, in this role I supported the General Ledger Supervisor acting in their absence as well as having specific responsibility for balance sheets, VAT and monitoring the General Ledger Assistants. I spent 6 months in this role and was then promoted to the Accounts Payable Supervisor. In this role I first experienced managing people as well as managing external suppliers and our internal clients.

During this time I started studying for my CIMA exams and have been able to develop my experience further by joining the Management Accountant Team as an Assistant Management Accountant. This role again is very different and although I do not have a team to manage I coach our centre teams to enable them to better understand the P&L within their Centre.

I have stayed with Regus because I really enjoy the teams I have worked in and have made many friends over the years. Also I have been very lucky with the opportunities that I have had since joining Regus.
